The Vancouver
International Film Festival

Director, Creative Engagement & Live
Programmer, VIFF LIVE & Labs
2018 - Ongoing

As the director of creative engagement, I provide strategic leadership on initiatives that cultivate and empower the creator and the cinephile at all levels. By developing a dynamic portfolio of conferences, talks, masterclasses, exhibitions, performances and marketplaces for film, television, virtual reality, live performance and film music, Creative Engagement extends the boundaries of our collective understanding of screen-based storytelling.

As the programmer of VIFF LIVE, I curate major events that diversify the dimensionality of the festival experience. With a focus on live performances, I have worked with talent including RZA (Wu Tang Clan), Kid Koala, Goblin, Song Exploder, Chuck D (Public Enemy), Beverly Glenn-Copeland and On Cinema at the Cinema with Tim Heidecker & Gregg Turkington.

Record Club Podcast

Co-Creator & Co-Producer
2020
Record Club is a live storytelling podcast that celebrates seminal albums and explores how these albums affect our lives. Produced by Kelly&Kelly and hosted by musician Louise Burns, each episode features storytellers telling a true, personal story about how a particular record shaped them. This is not a show about dissecting the musicality of an iconic album, but a show that focuses on the relationship people have with music. By the end of it’s initial run, Record Club charted in the top 20 on Apple Podcasts in the music commentary category.

The Vancouver
Chinatown Night Market

Program Director
2013
The 2013 season of the Vancouver Chinatown Market marked a new vision for the 18-year summer tradition bolstering one of the oldest Chinese markets in North America as a modern, all-ages, cultural hub.

As program director, I co-developed the rebranding of the Market, curated and produced a 3 month calendar of events engaging over 20 community arts organizations and introduced original programming including The Chinatown Ping Pong Club, The Chinatown Mahjong Social, The Chinatown Outdoor Cinema, and the Golden Dumpling Cook-Off & Derby.
